Customized Student Trip Programs

Our travel programs are customized to meet your educational objectives, time requirements and group budget. Our planners conduct in-depth research to determine the best student educational destinations and related activities.

The Proposal and Itinerary for each field trip and multi-day tour, regardless of length, is written by our travel professionals and reviewed by our president. Your trip/tour Proposal will include the cost per student, tiered pricing for a range of students and a Proposed Itinerary for your review. All Proposals include information on:

Transporation

All single day field trips and most multi-day tours travel via deluxe motorcoaches with the latest safety features contracted from major local carriers. Coaches are less than five (5) years old and are equipped with video monitors throughout the passenger cabin for en route tape viewing. Some multi-day tours use a combination of transportation: Air & Motorcoach or Rail & Motorcoach.

Tour Directors / Tour Management

Our Tour Directors travel with your group from departure to return, taking care of all trip details, from Itinerary modifications to making financial payments. They are experienced, have college degrees and special tour management training. Some speak multiple languages, have teaching backgrounds and/or professional DC Tour Guide licenses. All have the talent, flexibility, insight and patience to work well with student groups!

Complimentary Trips For Supervising Adults

Great Adventures normally includes one (1) complimentary adult trip for every 10 student participants plus one (1) additional complimentary trip for the Group Leader. Complimentary adult trips will be included in the Proposal based on the ratio requested by the Group Leader.

Touring & Sightseeing Activities

Great Adventures offers a wide variety of touring & sightseeing options at all destinations. We are able to offer your group the advantage of low Tour Operator Rates resulting in greater savings than paying the "Group Rate" or "Student Rate."

Special Activities & Appointment Confirmations

Great Adventures is ready to assist and advise you with all special activities requiring Group Appointment Confirmations such as Arlington Cemetery Wreath Ceremonies, V.I.P. White House Tours, Meetings with Congresspersons, F.B.I. Tour, etc.

Destination Step-On Tour Guide Service

Destination step-on Tour Guide Service is available on both single day field trips and multi-day tours as desired in major cities such as DC, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Gettysburg, Newport, etc. Step-on Tour Guides provide informative narration on each motorcoach and lead touring & sightseeing off the bus.

Included Meals

We take pride in offering bountiful group meals at reasonable prices.

On single day field trips groups have the option of bringing food & beverages from home or of including meals in the trip package.

On both single day and multi-day trips, meal options are customized and include choice of "Fast Food" Restaurants, Food Courts, Restaurants with Buffet Meals & Restaurants with Plated Service. We are also able to arrange Pizza Parties, Dinner Theatres, Dinner Cruises and group meals at Themed Restaurants, i.e. Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock Café, Rainforest Café, etc.

Accommodations (Multi-Day Trips)

Great Adventures selects upscale full service hotels in safe corporate park or commercial business settings. Hotels feature interior hallways, electronic key cards for guest rooms, on-site motorcoach parking, smoke detectors, sprinkler systems and full time / 24 hour security personnel. Guest rooms have sealed windows or windows secured with stops permitting an opening of no more than six (6) inches. Students are accommodated at quad occupancy, supervising adults/chaperones at double occupancy. Group Leaders and School Administrators are accommodated at single occupancy.

Evening Activities (Multi-Day Trips)

The youth energy level as we know remains high even after a full day’s activities. Great Adventures understands the needs of both students and adults and offers a wide range of highlights for evening group options.

Private Duty Night Security (Multi-Day Trips)

Great Adventures provides private duty security officers each night, dedicated exclusively to monitoring all corridors occupied by your group from 10:30 P.M. - 7:00 A.M. This security coverage is in addition to the 24 hour security service provided by the hotel for all guests. Security officers meet with the Group Leader, School Administrator and Tour Director for specific instructions prior to going on duty in assigned hallways each night, and again prior to departing each morning. Private duty security allows supervising adults an opportunity for uninterrupted sleep unless summoned by officers due to an emergency.

Great Adventures is proud to be a member of the National Tour Association and the American Bus Association. As members, we adhere to a strict code of ethics and maintains Professional Liability / Errors & Omissions Insurance.

Included Miscellaneous Expenses

All customary gratuities for Motorcoach Drivers, Tour Director are included in the student Package Cost. Customary gratuities are included for Step-on Tour Guides and DeeJay if applicable. Gratuity envelopes are prepared by Great Adventures and given to the Group Leader for presentation at the conclusion of service. All meal gratuities, taxes, tolls, parking fees, etc. included in package cost — no "extras."

Curriculum Materials, Study Guides & Destination Videos

The Great Adventures Student Travel Planning Center is one of the largest facilities in existence dedicated exclusively to organizing student field trips and multi-day tours. Curriculum materials and study guides are available upon request. In addition, Great Adventures maintains a free loan video library with destination videos available for pre-trip use in the classroom or for en route viewing on motorcoaches.

Trip Cancellation Insurance

Optional Trip Cancellation Insurance is available to individual students at nominal cost. Parents are provided with a toll free number for the purpose of obtaining information and requesting an application.
